Dr. Sugandhi Rao received the 2006 Sir C.V. Raman State Scientific Award from the Government of Karnataka for her exceptional contribution to Research in Medical Sciences Category. She has published more than 65 research articles in international and national journals.
She has undergone special training in Diagnostic Bacteriology, Parasitology, and Mycology in various reputed centers in India and abroad.
