Dr. Sreekumar passed MBBS from the prestigious Calicut Medical College. He took his MD in Internal Medicine from Government Medical College, Coimbatore in 2003.

After a short stint as Junior Physician at Baby Memorial Hospital, Calicut, he joined Calicut Medical College as Senior Lecturer in Medicine in January 2004. He later got promoted to Assistant Professor of Medicine and was involved in teaching Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.

Dr. Sreekumar was also the Joint Secretary of Calicut Forum of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Sreekumar has served as the Secretary of The Calicut Medical College Alumni Association for 4 years.

He was the Residential Medical Officer of CMCH.

Dr. Sreekumar was also the Medical Officer in Rheumatology Clinic, Calicut Medical College from 2006 to 2010.

Dr. Sreekumar is also an Editorial board member of the Calicut Medical Journal.
