It is extremely safe and effective for facial enhancement especially of the upper face. Many people have the misconception that botox is a toxin and hence, harmful to the body. The product has been used in the market for the last 40 years in the form of millions of injections, and it has a high satisfaction rate

Indications

In today’s hectic lifestyle with added stress and pollution, wrinkles start appearing on the face at a very early age. On the upper face, these take the shape of Forehead lines, Frown lines and Crows Feet. The horizontal lines on the forehead are called worry lines which give a very tired and anxious look to the face. Frown lines appear between the eyebrows and give an angry look, while crows feet appear on the side of the eyes and give an aged look. All these three conditions can be treated effectively by the use of Botox. The procedure is tailored to suit the requirement of the individual patients.

Procedure

After consultation with the concerned doctor, the part to be treated is anesthetized with the help of a numbing cream for 20 min. It is then injected with Botox using an insulin syringe at the desired areas. The procedure has no down time and the patient can go back to their routine activities. The results take up to two weeks to appear and last for at least 4 to 6 months

Side effects

  • Discomfort or pain at the site of injection can occur for 3-4 hours
  • Minor side effects noted are bruising, especially around the eye area which takes 3-4 days to resolve.
  • A rare side effect is a drooping eyelid which resolves with the use of eye drops in two weeks time.
