Fasting during Ramadan can improve one’s health, but only if done in the proper manner. But if done incorrectly, it can cause more harm than good. This month, follow the below tips for a healthy Ramadan:-
1) It is better to consult your doctor and reschedule your medicines to twice a day instead of being non-compliant with the drug.
2) Although the effects of fasting on stable patients with the cardiac disease are minimal, it is advisable to consult your treating physician once before the commencement of fasting.
3) Try to adopt a low-salt and low-fat diet during Suhoor and Iftar
4) Cardiac patients with diabetes should be careful with their diabetic medicine to avoid the risk of low sugar levels.
5) Ramadan is an opportunity to start a heart healthy lifestyle
6) The scientific data has proved that majority of patients with a stable cardiac disease can fast during Ramadan without any detrimental effect.
